Privacy Policy
AppSec Brief ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at appsecbrief.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
Information We Collect
AppSec Brief is a static website. We do not operate user accounts, comment systems, or forms that collect personal information. The categories of data we may receive are:
- Server logs: Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may collect standard web server logs, including IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, referrer URLs, and page requests. These logs are retained per Cloudflare's own data retention policy and are used solely for security and operational purposes.
- Analytics: We do not currently use third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics). If this changes, this policy will be updated before deployment.
- Cookies and local storage: We store a single key (
theme) in your browser'slocalStorageto remember your dark/light mode preference. This value never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
How We Use Information
We use server log data only to maintain the security and availability of the site. We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). By visiting AppSec Brief, your browser will make a request to Google's servers to retrieve these fonts. Google's use of that data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
If you prefer to block this request, you can disable web fonts in your browser or use a content blocker. The site will fall back to system monospace and sans-serif fonts.
Children's Privacy
AppSec Brief is intended for developers and security professionals. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal information beyond standard hosting logs, there is typically no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you have a specific concern about data held by our hosting provider, please refer to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
